Honest D Plumbing specializes in the installation and replacement of water treatment units. Hard water means the water contains more minerals (calcium & magnesium) than filtered city water. If your water contains anything more than 7-10 grains per gallon of hardness, it is considered hard and a softener is recommended. In order to make the water soft (which means less streaking on glass and plumbing fixtures, softer hair after showering) you will require a water softener.
